Scott M. Zimmerman

Scott M. Zimmerman is an accomplished trial attorney with over 30 years of experience. He focuses his practice on the defense of complex medical malpractice, nursing home, products liability and mass tort actions. Throughout his career, Scott has represented a broad range of health care providers from major academic medical centers and long-term care facilities to individual physicians, nurses and staff. Known for his rigorous case preparation from inception, he boasts an impressive trial record.

In addition to defending traditional medical malpractice claims, his practice includes representing allied healthcare providers, conducting pre-litigation investigations, general risk management activities, and physician disciplinary proceedings. Scott’s product liability experience is extensive and wide-ranging. He has represented various pharmaceutical companies in multi-district litigations and individual cases involving prescription drugs, medical devices and over-the-counter products. He has also represented manufacturers of chemicals, automotive products, and material-handling equipment. He has served as a key member of various defense teams in multiple national litigations. Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner at prominent defense firms based in New York City.

Currently, Scott serves on the Board of Directors of a national not-for-profit association and has held various elected and appointed volunteer positions in town government and civic associations in Darien, CT.
