Lauren J. Daniels

Lauren Daniels, a partner with our NYC Office, is an aggressive, seasoned litigator with over 25 years of experience. Lauren’s impressive background includes 13 years with a prominent New York City professional liability defense firm, where her focus was on healthcare litigation and related appellate strategy. Throughout her remarkable career, including 7½ years as a healthcare litigation and appellate strategy Partner, Lauren has defended high-exposure, complex, medical and professional malpractice actions from inception to resolution, with a focus and passion for matters involving significant neurological injury / stroke in young adults and children, along with claims involving maternal fetal medicine, neonatology, device defect / products liability, rare / nuanced diseases (e.g., actinomycosis, sickle cell disease, Chiari malformation, Myeloproliferative disorder), and intricate / sophisticated surgical practices causing catastrophic injury.

Lauren’s vast experience includes but is not limited to leading mediations and drafting all papers and memoranda related thereto, defending high-profile defendants at deposition, acting as second-chair in various complicated, high-exposure medical malpractice trials, and handling all aspects of necessary /related appellate litigation; including drafting necessary briefs and/or motions / memoranda, and presenting numerous oral arguments to the Appellate Division for the First, Second and Third Departments.

Additionally, through her time as a complex claims analyst for a premier professional and general liability insurance carrier, together with her prior experience defending city hospitals / agencies, along with acting as a guardian ad-litem and transactional attorney, Lauren brings other levels of invaluable knowledge to the team; thereby furthering of our collective goal of achieving the most favorable outcomes for our clients.

Lauren obtained her J.D from Brooklyn Law School in 2002, and her BA in 1998 from Binghamton University in “Philosophy Politics & Law.” Lauren is also a member of the New York State Women’s Bar Association, as well as the Alternative Dispute Resolution and Appellate Practice sections of the New York State Bar Association.
